Breathwork & sound

A place to breathe.
A different way to listen.

I facilitate conscious connected breathwork and immersive sound experiences: work that can be quiet, powerful, revealing and deeply felt.

Explore the practices

Sometimes understanding something is not the same as having moved through it.

Breath and sound offer another way in. They can bring you beneath the usual commentary of the mind and closer to sensation, emotion, memory, insight and the things that have not yet found words.

That can lead to release, clarity or a profound sense of rest. It can also be subtle. There is nothing to perform and no particular kind of experience you are supposed to have.

01 · Conscious connected breathwork

What breathwork
actually is.

A connected breathing pattern

Conscious connected breathwork is a sustained, intentional way of breathing in which the inhale flows into the exhale and the exhale flows directly into the next inhale. The usual pause disappears and the breath becomes circular.

The inhale is generally fuller and more active; the exhale is allowed to release. Depending on the session and the person, the breath may move through the mouth or the nose. It is not about breathing as hard or as fast as possible. We are looking for a connected rhythm that has energy in it, while still leaving room to listen to your body.

Deep work, without forcing

This is different from a short breathing technique used to calm down or find focus. The connected breathing continues for longer, supported by music and guidance, so there is time to move beyond the first layer of effort and into a more instinctive, embodied experience.

People can come into contact with emotion, memory, resistance, grief, anger, joy or something they have been carrying without quite realising it. Insight may arrive through words, images or a simple bodily sense of knowing. Release may be strong, or it may be no more dramatic than a breath finally dropping, a muscle softening or the feeling that something has shifted.

01

Arrive

We begin with grounding, a clear explanation of the breathing and time for questions. You choose how you lie or sit and what support you need.

02

Build gradually

The breath develops slowly. I help you find the connection between inhale and exhale without forcing pace, volume or intensity.

03

Meet what emerges

Sensation, emotion or insight may begin to surface. I support you to stay curious without pushing past what feels right for you.

04

Return and integrate

The active breathing finishes gradually. There is unhurried time to rest, notice what is present and allow the experience to settle.

What might happen

Release is possible.
So is stillness.

Changing the breathing pattern can bring strong physical sensations: tingling, heat or coolness, trembling, changes in muscle tension, light-headedness or a sense of energy moving through the body. Emotion, memory and imagery may surface too.

Release can take many forms. There may be tears, laughter, movement, sound, shaking or a long exhale. Sometimes it is quieter: a new insight, a softening around something difficult, a sense of spaciousness, or the feeling of coming back into contact with yourself.

I do not treat intensity as evidence that the session is working. Catharsis can happen, but it is not a performance and it is not the goal. A gentle session may reach somewhere deep. A powerful session may take time to understand. Both can matter.

People often come to breathwork when thinking and talking have taken them a certain distance, but something still feels held in the body. Others come through curiosity, during a period of change, or because they want an honest encounter with themselves outside the habits of ordinary life.

No previous breathwork or meditation experience is necessary.

02 · Sound baths & sound journeys

Resting
inside sound.

A sound bath, or immersive sound journey, is an experience of lying down or sitting comfortably while sound unfolds around and through the room.

I work with gong, crystal bowls, voice and other instruments to create layers of resonance, rhythm, vibration and silence. At times the sound may feel vast and enveloping; at others it may become very spare, delicate or almost imperceptible.

You do not need to follow anything or listen in a particular way. Attention can drift. The body can soften. Images, emotion or insight may arise, or you may simply rest and let yourself be carried by the sound for a while.

I am not interested in making grand claims that a particular instrument or frequency heals a particular condition. What matters to me is the lived experience: how sound changes the atmosphere, reaches places language does not always reach and gives people permission to receive rather than strive.

Sound is deep work in its own right. It does not need breathwork in order to be meaningful.

Breathwork + sound

Breath first.
Sound afterwards.

In some experiences, I bring conscious connected breathwork and immersive sound together because the transition between them can be especially powerful.

Breathwork may leave you feeling open, tender, energised, moved or very still. Going directly into an extended sound journey means there is no abrupt return to conversation or ordinary pace. There is nothing new to achieve. You can lie back and let the sound hold the next part of the experience.

The sound gives time for whatever has moved, surfaced or released to settle into its own shape. Insight does not have to be forced into words immediately. The whole arc becomes part of the work: arriving, breathing, opening, listening and slowly landing.

This combined format is the basis of my Alchemical Breathwork & Sound sessions.

How I work

Depth and choice
belong together.

I will invite you into the work, but I will not push you towards an experience you do not want. I explain the breathing clearly, stay attentive to the group and offer support without assuming that I know what your experience means.

You remain in charge of your breath. You can soften it, breathe normally, change position, open your eyes, ask for support or stop. I may encourage curiosity at the edge of discomfort, but I will never ask you to override your own no.

Afterwards, there is proper time to land rather than rushing straight back into the day. Depending on the session, that may include silence, reflection, conversation, tea, cake and the gentle return of ordinary things.

You do not need to arrive calm, spiritually inclined or good at meditation. You can come exactly as you are.

Safety & health screening

Breathwork is not appropriate for everyone.

Some physical or mental-health conditions, pregnancy, recent surgery or acute illness may require a modified approach or may mean that intensive breathwork is unsuitable.

Everyone completes a short health screening when registering. If you are uncertain about whether a session is appropriate for you, please contact me before booking.
